Integrity - Accountability - Experience
I believe that government should remove barriers — not create them — to help people succeed. We must ensure every resident has access to basic services, safe roads, quality land-use planning, and fiscal policies that work for families, seniors, and small businesses.
WHY I’M RUNNING
My wife Dotty and I absolutely love living here . Our 10 children and 10 grandchildren love visiting us. We believe Jefferson County should remain safe, affordable, and a great place to live for everyone.
Government should remove barriers, not create them.
I’m not running for politics — I’m running to serve.
A Bold Vision. Real Solutions
Fiscal Responsibility & Tax Fairness
Jefferson County must live within its means while delivering essential services. I support:
Balanced budgets without gimmicks or unfunded mandates.
Targeted tax relief, especially for seniors and fixed-income residents, while protecting core services like public safety and infrastructure.
Transparency in budgeting, so citizens know where every dollar goes.
Nationally, our debt problem threatens future generations. Locally, that means counties must resist waste, avoid political spending, and focus on needs, not wants.
Public Safety & Emergency Services
Safe communities are the foundation of opportunity. I strongly support:
Fully funding law enforcement, first responders, and emergency services.
Smart deployment of resources to address traffic safety, drug-related crime, and repeat offenders.
Accountability and professionalism in policing to maintain public trust.
This is not an either-or choice. We can support law enforcement and expect ethical, constitutional conduct.
Roads, Infrastructure & Smart Growth
Jefferson County’s growth demands responsible planning, not reactionary decisions. Road safety and maintenance must be a top priority—unsafe roads cost lives and money. Thoughtful zoning that protects homeowners, farmland, and property values. Development should pay its fair share and not overburden schools, roads, or emergency services.
Growth should serve residents—not special interests.
Education, Workforce & Opportunity
As a special education teacher, I know that education is not a partisan issue.
Support career and technical education, apprenticeships, and workforce training. Partner with schools and local employers to prepare students for real jobs, not just test scores. Respect local control of education while advocating for students with disabilities and special needs. A strong county economy starts with a prepared workforce.
Opioid Addiction & Mental Health
Addiction has touched nearly every family. Jefferson County must move beyond talk. Use opioid settlement funds responsibly and transparently. Support treatment, recovery, and prevention, not just incarceration. Coordinate law enforcement, healthcare providers, and community organizations. This is about saving lives, protecting families, and restoring productivity.
Constitutional Rights & Personal Freedom
I respect the Constitution and individual liberties, including the Second Amendment. Law-abiding citizens should not be punished for the actions of criminals. Public safety efforts should focus on criminal behavior, not broad restrictions on rights. Decisions should be driven by local needs, not national political theater. Rights and responsibilities must go hand in hand.
Immigration & Border Concerns
Immigration policy is federal, but its impacts are local. We need secure borders and lawful immigration. We must treat people humanely while enforcing the law. Counties should not be forced to shoulder unfunded mandates or political stunts. Jefferson County should focus on serving residents—not solving Washington’s failures.
I am the son of immigrants. They struggled mightily to come to this country during World War 2. In keeping with the 1924 Immigration act (Johnson-Reed Act) as refugees fleeing from Nazi-occupied Europe, they had to navigate a rigid, quota-based system designed to limit immigration. It took years, but only the legal way is the right way.
Government’s Role: Remove Barriers, Not Build Them
At every level, government should:
-
Protect basic services
-
Remove unnecessary red tape
-
Respect taxpayers
-
Focus on outcomes, not ideology
I believe in service before politics, solutions over slogans, and leadership rooted in experience.
