My name is John Parker, and I’m proud to call the Paradise Valley subdivision my home. For more than four years I’ve served our community as an HOA board member, working with neighbors to solve real problems and improve daily life where we live. Today, I’m running to represent District 1 on the Jefferson County Council because Jefferson County deserves leadership with proven experience, a servant’s heart, and a clear vision for the future.
I bring a lifetime of public service to this race. I’m a special education teacher for the Special School District currently assigned to Rockwood South Middle School, where I fight every day for students to have the support and opportunities they deserve. Before that, I proudly served 21 years in the United States Air Force and the MOANG, retiring as a Major — a career defined by discipline, integrity, and commitment to community. My public service didn’t stop there. While living in Des Peres, Missouri, I served 10½ years as an alderman and earlier contributed my time on both the Public Safety Commission and the Planning and Zoning Commission.
I grew up in Cuba, Missouri, and built my life and education here n the St. Louis area — with a BA in Political Science from Saint Louis University, a Master’s in Management and Supervision from Central Michigan University, and a Master’s in Teaching from Missouri Baptist University. My special education certification comes from St. Louis University. I understand policy, budgets, and the importance of responsible leadership that puts people first.
My wife Dotty and I wake up every day grateful to live in this wonderful county. We are blessed with 10 children and 10 grandchildren. I've also walked the path of foster and adoptive parenting. I believe strongly that all of us — especially our children — deserve a community that is safe, prosperous, and full of opportunity.
Now more than ever, Jefferson County needs leadership focused on results:
Public safety and infrastructure — our roads and highways, like Highway 30, have seen serious crashes and rising safety concerns that demand action to protect families and commuters.
Fiscal responsibility with common-sense support — the County’s 2026 budget is $14 million less than last year’s, requiring careful stewardship to maintain essential services without overburdening taxpayers.
Tax fairness and relief — recent council discussions showed division on senior tax relief; I will push for solutions that give relief where it’s needed while keeping our county financially stable.
Smart growth and planning — as our county evolves, zoning and development issues require thoughtful leadership that protects neighborhoods and ensures responsible land use.
Addressing community health needs — while Jefferson County has millions in opioid settlement funds, those resources haven’t yet been put to work to address addiction and recovery — I will advocate for action that gets results and supports families suffering from this crisis.
I believe that government should remove barriers — not create them — to help people succeed. We must ensure every resident has access to basic services, safe roads, quality land-use planning, and fiscal policies that work for families, seniors, and small businesses.
I humbly ask for your support and your vote for Jefferson County Council, District 1. If I can ever be of service, please reach out — I’m listening, and I’m ready to work for you.📞 Google Voice: 314-252-0390

Conclusion
Parker embodies the qualities we need in a District 1 Councilman: integrity, experience, and a genuine commitment to the community. His vision for a safer, more prosperous District 1 is not just a campaign promise; it is a reflection of his dedication to serving the people. As we approach the election, let us rally behind a candidate who truly represents our values and aspirations. Together, we can build a brighter future for District 1.
